Bonds' New Aston Martin DB10 Previews at Cheltenham

Last Friday night, H.R. Owen hosted the brand new Aston Martin DB10—the car movie goers will see Daniel Craig pushing to the limit in Spectre, the 24th installment of the longstanding James Bond franchise.
Appearing at Aston Martin Cheltenham, the DB10 – along with stunt driver Mark Higgins (Spectre, Skyfall, and Quantum of Solace) – wowed guests with its breath-taking design and markedly unique features. Higgins was kind enough to share some captivating stories from the Bond set and talk about his time behind the wheel of the DB5, DBS V12, and—of course—the new DB10.[slideshow_deploy id=’4217′]
H.R. Owen guests competed feverishly to outdo Higgins in the Beat the Stunt Driver simulator, with prizes being awarded for those with the fastest laps.
All told, the evening was both a celebration of Bond and Aston Martin. Attendees clad in smart casual wares were free to walk to the showroom floor, examine the DB5, DB10 and DB9 GT, enjoy a lavish drinks reception, and nibble on canapés while sipping champagne.
Aston Martin has been supplying the world’s most famous spy with a steady supply of automotive acuity for more than half a century. Bond first took the wheel of an Aston Martin (the iconic DB5) for the 1964 film Goldfinger. The DB10 is a brilliant demonstration of Aston Martin’s bespoke capabilities, and gives car enthusiasts a glimpse at the future design direction of the company.
Unlike the Aston Martins in other Bond films, the DB10 was developed specifically for Spectre. Led by Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, the car was built entirely in-house and featured a very special collaboration between the brand’s design team, engineering team, and the director of the movie, Sam Mendes.
Per Aston Martin CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer:

In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond. To be partnering once again with EON Productions is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin. I’m incredibly proud of everyone in the team at Gaydon who have brought this special project from concept to reality.

Production of the bespoke DB10 will be legendarily limited—only 10 will be developed and built by the designers, engineers and highly-skilled craftspeople at Aston Martin’s Gaydon headquarters.
