Pininfarina Sergio at the H.R. Owen Ferrari Atelier

Ferrari Sergio Pininfarina

Ferrari and Pininfarina create Sergio: a dream, a vision, a reality.

As Swan-Songs go, this will take some beating!  In 2012, Sergio Pininfarina passed away at the ripe old age of 85.  As homage to this legendary Italian designer who created the awe-inspiring F40 and 250GTO, a special one-off Ferrari concept car, “Sergio” was developed and unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013.
Pinifarina’s son and company CEO, Paulo said “My father would be proud of this concept car because it expresses the aesthetic values that always inspired him: the purity of the lines, the harmony of form”.  The sublime roadster is based on a modern interpretation of Sergio Pininfarina’s masterpieces – the 1965 Dino Berlinetta Speciale.

Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio

Such was the furore about this stunning windowless supercar, that Ferrari and Pininfarina joined force once more to turn the concept into reality with a production run of just six. As with all limited edition Ferraris, ownership of a Pininfarina Sergio is a very selective process, and all six have been sold, yet we are in the privileged position to be able to display this masterpiece of style and engineering excellence in our Knightsbridge showroom.
As one may expect, for any car bearing Sergio’s name on its flank, the attention to detail is phenomenal, even the interior is opulent yet functional. Under the hood, the Sergio shares technology with the Ferrari 458 Spider. Yet, Sergio weighs 150 kilograms less. The combination of power and weight results in great performance – but there’s only a very small chance that you will see one of these cars on the streets, it has no windscreen!
As if to prove their status as the consummate designers, the extraordinarily talented team at Pininfarina have created a screen-less supercar. The incredible precision aerodynamics of the design mean that instead of a windscreen, the matt black surfaces ahead of the driver take the airflow up and over the driver and passenger’s heads and across to the rear deck which provides engine cooling as well as downforce.

Of course, while commending the Italian coachwork supremos for their exceptional and stunning design, it is their collaboration with Ferrari which makes our pulses race. With a 570- horsepower 4.5-liter V8 engine, the roadster is capable of doing 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 3.4 seconds before maxing at a top speed of 199 mph. It must be amazing to drive!
For possibly your only chance to see a Pininfarina Sergio visit our H.R. Owen Ferrari Atelier show rooms in the Berkeley Hotel, Knightsbridge before we have the sad task of returning her to Italy.

H.R. Owen are always proud to share our expert knowledge and appreciation of all New Ferraris and Used Ferraris.
